Since the 2007/2008 school year, Friedrich Schiller Gymnasium has been one of the pilot schools in Saxony that may award Certilingua, the European label of excellence, to students.

This certificate is given to students in addition to their university entrance diplomas if they have documented their ability to act in a European and international context.

The European label of excellence focuses on the promotion of international cooperation and intercultural learning as well as on the integration of students and teachers. It distinguishes schools that give special attention to multilingualism, linguistic expertise, bilingualism and European and international commitment.
